Bio:JCRT, co-founded by visionary designers Jeffrey Costello and Robert Tagliapietra, stands at the intersection of cutting-edge digital technology and the enduring legacy of analog craftsmanship. Established in 2016 by CFDA-elected designers, the brand reimagines plaid through proprietary patterns that draw from a vast spectrum of cultural references—military camos, iconic book jackets, classic horror films, and post-punk album covers—translating these inspirations into meticulously crafted shirts and trousers. With over fifty years of combined expertise, Costello and Tagliapietra's sartorial foundation was shaped by their grandmothers—both of whom worked under Norman Norell in the 1960s—imparting couture-level tailoring techniques learned from their grand mothers as children. Their eponymous womenswear label, Costello Tagliapietra, launched in 2005, earned them the Ecco Domani Fashion Foundation Award and two consecutive CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund nominations, leading to collaborations with Uniqlo, Disney, and Barneys NY. They have also created custom wardrobes for Björk, Bruce and Patti Springsteen, Depeche Mode, Fischerspooner, and Nine Inch Nails, with their work exhibited at The Metropolitan Museum of Art and housed in the permanent collections of the Victoria and Albert Museum, and the Museum at FIT. Through Resonance, JCRT is committed to revolutionizing fashion production by embracing a sustainable, on-demand model. Every garment is printed, cut, sewn, and shipped from a single facility, ensuring fair wages, minimized waste, and a low carbon footprint. Utilizing Bluesign-certified, eco-friendly dyes and up to 50% less water, JCRT eliminates the industry’s reliance on overproduction and markdown cycles. The brand does not hold sales—not due to exclusivity, but because its pricing structure rejects traditional markups in favor of ethical production.JCRT’s mission is clear: to create clothing that values craftsmanship over disposability, human dignity over exploitation, and environmental responsibility over short-term cost savings. The result is an infinite variety of garments that endure—both in quality and meaning—allowing the wearer to express not just personal style, but a commitment to a better way forward.
