Sally Congdon-Martin

Production and Manufacturing Expert

Sally Congdon-Martin is obsessed with apparel manufacturing. Having worked with factories all over the world but mainly in PA for the better part of 15 years, her experience has run the gamut from patternmaking/technical design to manufacturing process building and operations management, touching on every step in between. Sally’s manufacturing experience includes working with brands such as Michael Stars, Nordstrom, Lucky Brand Jeans, GK Elite Sportswear (outfitters of the US National Gymnastics team), Graco baby products, Mohnton Made, and Buck Mason. Since 2019 Sally has played critical roles in transforming a 140-year-old manufacturing facility in Mohnton, PA, to operate with a modern domestic approach, first with Stitch Fix as the Technical Design Manager and then as Technical Design lead and Senior Manager of Factory Operation for Buck Mason. Sally also authored five books in the Emerging Fashion Designer Book Series, an annual catalog of final graduating collections by aspiring fashion designers at noted fashion design programs across the US.

Sally began her career in fashion in Shanghai, China, where she worked as a journalist covering the local fashion and retail scene for English-language publications. She went on to earn her MS in fashion design from Drexel University. That program’s hands-on approach to fashion design influences her to this day.
