Emily Soloby

PFI Alumna and Founder, Juno Jones

Emily Soloby is the Founder and CEO of Juno Jones Safety Footwear, and a mission-driven entrepreneur dedicated to empowering women in non-traditional fields. Her career began in advocacy work as a trial attorney with Legal Aid. With her husband Ryan she then took the helm of AAA School of Trucking. It was here she identified a glaring gap in the market: the lack of properly fitting, functional safety footwear for women. Drawing on her lifelong love for boots and training in shoemaking, she founded Juno Jones.

Juno Jones is a National Safety Council award-winning, WBENC-certified safety footwear brand specializing in boots and sneakers built specifically for women. While many companies rely on a “unisex” last for both men and women, Juno Jones disrupts the industry standard, using specially designed women’s footwear lasts and components to ensure proper fit, performance, and protection.

Emily was a designer-in-residence with the Philadelphia Fashion Incubator Program for two years in 2020 and 2021, an experience that provided valuable mentorship, community, and the sense of having a team of industry leaders supporting the growth of Juno Jones.

With a Masters in Broadcasting, Emily is also the creator and host of the globally top-ranked Hazard Girls Podcast, spotlighting women in male-populated industries. Her leadership also extends to experience on the Board of Directors for NAWIC Philadelphia, committees for Women in Trucking and Empowering Women in Industry, and as a current founding board member for the Alliance of Women’s Safety Apparel Manufacturers (AWSAM).

Emily’s work has been featured in over 100 media outlets, including Women's Wear Daily and ABC TV, and showcased in art museums like the Michener. Recent honors include the EWI Empowering Woman of the Year, Visa She’s Next in Fashion Award, and a Women in Trucking Top Woman to Watch in Transportation. As a mother to two, Emily’s work is rooted in creating a better future for her children. This includes making sure girls and women feel empowered to thrive in any career, starting with having the right footwear for the job.
