The Architect’s Journey: Heritage, Heart, and Hand

A son of Buffalo, New York, carrying the name and creative legacy of Conrad Jesse and Mary Evelyn Booker, my life has been a quiet study in the architecture of the soul. From the disciplined halls of Bishop Turner High School in Buffalo to earning my degree at the School of Architecture at Temple University in Philadelphia, Pa, I learned early on that every profound structure begins with a vision—and that the greatest piece of architecture is the human body.

Following forty-one years of creative cultivation in Philadelphia—including my tenure as Staff Architect and later as Creative Director of the Architectural, Interior, and Landscape departments at Cathers & Assoc. in Malvern, Pa—I have found a new rhythm in the coastal light of Lewes, Delaware. Here, alongside my life-partner of twenty-six years, Adam, and our companions Finn and Mini, I lead conradbooker: a design Maison focused on merging art, architecture, and fashion to create wearable works of art.

My work is guided by a philosophy of the chair and a philosophy of the garment, recognizing that design must provide both a structural foundation and a soul-deep expression. I treat every project as a divine appointment—a response to the quiet conviction that God is in the details. Whether designing a mural or a couture piece, I strive to make my faith a living breath expressed through the intentional beauty of everything I create.
